New Orleans- Today, July 2, 2018 Judge Byron C. Williams is being forced to step down. After years of allegations of sexual misconduct and other behavior unbecoming of a judge, Criminal District Court Judge Byron Williams is being removed from the bench. The case against Williams is so damning that the Judiciary Commission has taken the extraordinary step of immediately preventing Williams from hearing any more cases until the final outcome of his case is determined.
If found negligent, Williams would be subject to even more potential punishment from the Supreme Court and may even lose his law license. Unfortunately, allegations against judges are strictly confidential and all parties involved are forbidden from discussing any parts of the case. Think504 has received from reliable sources that the case against Mr. Williams is substantial and involves years of alleged misdeeds.
