Billionaires Face Growing National Uprising
Americans are protesting Elon Musk, Donald Trump, and the billionaire takeover of government. Their actions include mass firings and the dismantling of federal agencies.
The purpose? To fund a $6 trillion tax cut benefiting the world’s richest people.
Musk, Tesla’s largest shareholder, gave Trump $288 million during the 2024 election. Trump then rewarded him with control of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).
DOGE has since targeted federal programs that served Americans for more than 80 years.
Protests Hit 500 Cities Nationwide
Protesters will gather Saturday, March 29, in over 500 cities. They will target 277 Tesla dealerships, state capitols, city councils, and GOP congressional offices.
Tesla stock has already dropped 48 percent since January.
Cities like Fort Lauderdale, Miami, Jacksonville, and Tallahassee will lead the demonstrations. Organizers say this may be the largest protest since the 2020 George Floyd uprising.
Momentum Builds as Leaders Speak Out
The Saturday protests were announced during a national call. That call included members of Congress, federal workers, journalists, and academics.
Protests that began as scattered actions have now grown into a historic nationwide movement.
Judges Push Back on Government Dismantling
Trump and Musk have moved aggressively. Never in U.S. history have such drastic changes occurred so fast.
Federal judges have blocked many of their efforts to shut down agencies and fire workers. Trump has responded by demanding judges be impeached.
Chief Justice John Roberts rebuked those calls. He reminded the public that policy disagreements are not impeachable offenses.
Rep. Jasmine Crockett Backs the Movement
Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) endorsed the protests. She declared, “We’re fighting for our country. We’re fighting for our freedoms.”
She clarified her message. “When I say fighting, I mean that figuratively. Everything I promote is non-violent,” she said.
Crockett is a leading voice against Trump’s illegal actions. He has fired workers and slashed federal agencies without congressional approval.
Two of the key agencies targeted include the Department of Education and the Social Security Administration.
Isolated Violence, Heavy Government Response
Though most protests remain peaceful, media coverage has highlighted isolated violence near Tesla dealerships.
Florida demonstrations have remained peaceful. In most cities, there have been no violent incidents.
Three individuals have been indicted for setting electric cars on fire at dealerships. Still, these events are minor compared to the size of the protest movement.
President Trump and Attorney General Pam Bondi have threatened harsh penalties. They plan to charge those involved with terrorism and seek 20-year sentences.
Tesla Sales Crash, Board Members Cash Out
As Tesla’s public image crashes, its sales have also declined. The company faces growing rejection in the U.S., Europe, and China.
Some Tesla board members—James Murdoch and Robyn Denholm included—have sold more than $100 million in stock in recent weeks.
Trump made the situation worse by illegally promoting Tesla from the White House. U.S. law bans government officials from endorsing private companies on government property or time.
Protesters say their goal is clear: to destroy Tesla, just as Trump and Musk destroyed public programs and American jobs.
