Early voting has started in New Orleans, and this election could not be more important. Citizens face a clear choice: a candidate with experience who has always stood with the people, or a candidate who collects endorsements and says one thing while doing another. The difference is not subtle. It is about vision, integrity, and the future of Black New Orleans.

The Stakes for Black Businesses

In a city like ours, Black-owned businesses are the backbone of culture and community. They provide jobs, create opportunity, and keep money circulating where it is needed most. Yet at a time when small businesses need stability and investment, Donald Trump and his allies are slashing federal support for states. Governor Jeff Landry is following the same playbook in Louisiana, starving cities of the resources they need. Without strong Black leadership at City Hall, New Orleans risks being abandoned by Baton Rouge and Washington alike.

Experience vs. Empty Promises

Endorsements and photo ops are not leadership. We have seen too many politicians smile for the cameras while cutting deals behind closed doors that hurt the very people who put them in office. New Orleans cannot afford another leader who talks about equity but refuses to stand firm when the pressure comes. We need someone with the scars of battle, someone who has navigated the highs and lows of this city and come out stronger. That leader is Oliver Thomas.

Why Oliver Thomas Matters Now

Oliver Thomas has experience, vision, and the will to fight for New Orleans. He understands how to protect and expand opportunities for Black-owned businesses, how to defend this city’s culture, and how to push back against a state and federal government determined to strip away resources. He has made mistakes and learned from them. That hard-earned wisdom gives him something his opponent lacks: the ability to stand firm when the future of our city is on the line.

The National and Local Battlefronts

What happens in this election will echo far beyond City Hall. Trump’s war on federal support and Landry’s cuts to Louisiana cities threaten to choke off lifelines for our communities. If we fail to elect leaders with experience and courage, New Orleans will suffer the consequences. The Lower Ninth Ward, Central City, and New Orleans East will pay the highest price, as always.

The Call to Action

Early voting is happening now. Every day you wait is a chance lost to protect your community, your business, and your family’s future. This election is not about slogans or endorsements—it is about survival. New Orleans needs strong Black leadership with vision, courage, and the experience to navigate storm after storm.

The choice is clear. The moment is now. Support the candidate who has walked the walk and proven he can fight for us. Support Oliver Thomas.
